Little Stranger Fairfax Concert reviews
What a Show!!!
The concert was a birthday gift for my husband (but don't tell him it was more for me.. LOL). We had done some research before returning to the Cynthia Wood Pavilion and stayed at the LaQuinta. This time, instead of reserved seats, we chose lawn seats and took a $5 shuttle to the front gate of the venue. This is the way to go, WOW! The people, the concessions, the breeze (thousands of people). The night you wished would never end. The opening acts of ENVY and The Academy is... were OK at best - The Academy Is... The music was similiar to U2, and the lead singer had the stylings of Freddie Mercury and was too theatrical, like a high school drama major - the 2 did not together. I could imagine the lead singer as an 11 year old boy practicing in front of a mirror as he perfected his flamboyant arm movements and jumping off of his bunk bed perfecting his stage landing, basically they stunk. But, we knew that it would only be worth the wait once Little Stranger hit the stage and boy were we right. The show was explosive, engaging, loud, and had something for everyone. I couldn't help but notice all of the children that were actually singing to the music, it made me realize that Little Stranger is timeless and could be put in the same category as Elvis. Everyone will know and remember them no matter how old or young we are. I am 43 and still love to "rock and roll all night and party every day". Great concert.
